Experience Summary

Epistaxis is extremely common. Presentations can vary from minor bleeding resolving with first aid, to requiring major surgery to resolve. First aid is of absolute importance, and can resolve the vast majority of cases. This experiences takes you through cauterisation of a nasal cavity.

1. Learn how to cauterise a nose for minor epistaxis.
2. Understand the technique for using silver nitrate cautery.
3. Revise the common pitfalls associated with nasal cautery .
