Experience Summary

Epistaxis is extremely common. Presentations can vary from minor bleeding resolving with first aid, to requiring major surgery to resolve. First aid is of absolute importance, and can resolve the vast majority of cases. In some cases, nasal cautery and first aid fails. This requires packing of the nose. This experience takes you through careful nasal packing procedure.

1. Learn the management of severe epistaxis.
2. Understand how to safely pack a nose .
3. Revise the common pitfalls and myths around nasal packing .
